Kabah

Uxmal, Nohpat (only accessible with four-wheelers) and Kabah were considered at least connected ceremonially if not politically [Coe 2011]. Kabah was a pleasant surprise for its Kotz' Po'op Palace and its freestanding arch. It is considered a state park (imagine that!)

Kotz' Po'op Palace with hundreds of Flower Mountain masks (For a long time, they were mistakenly identified as the Maya Rain Gods Chahk/Chaac, however it is now believed to be iconogrphic mountains [Coe 2011]), unique in Mayan ruins.

This looks like a great archeological site. I especially like the photo of Bei in front of the wall of masks--great composition. John
